Christenings and Weddings

Christening

Our ancient church buildings offer beautiful locations and many families come to us each year to bring their children to be Christened, or Baptised, as well as adults wishing to be baptised themselves. It is our practice to provide preparation for candidates or their families during the time leading up to the service: this normally consists of an informal visit and a Baptism Preparation session with other parents. In the case of children, we also invite their families to a Thanksgiving at one of our regular services.

In addition to preparation for the Baptism itself, our communities offer continuing support with parent and toddler groups and various activities for children of all ages.

If you are interested in Baptism and would like to discuss it further, please contact the Rector on 01795 471483 in the first instance.

Each of our churches offers an ideal rural village setting for a wedding. Our friendly clergy and supporting staff make every effort to create a relaxed and welcoming environment for the happy couple and their guests. We are able to offer excellent musical support and in most of our buildings we can also provide a team of bellringers.

Our benefice is close to reception venues on the A2 or, if you prefer, each of our parishes also has a village hall nearby which can be booked separately if required. Car parking is available at all our churches.

We offer guidance leading up to the big day, with a preliminary visit and an opportunity to meet othMarriageer couples at a Marriage Preparation session.

If you would like further details, please either contact the Rector on 01795 471483 or visit Tunstall Church Office on Tuesday evenings during term time between 6:30 and 7:15 pm.
